Main Stream Media is Dead

Most people would have never believed it, this election season is showing everyone the true "stinking rotting corpse" of what used to be our main source for news .

True Raw unvarnished Main Stream Journalism ceased to exist over 10 years ago .

The MSM is officially dead ,and it's time to Bury it , although no honor guard or a 21 gun salute will be necessary at this funeral.

Witness the never-ending cycle of news concerns forcing internal layoffs, reorganisations, and budget cuts TV news Networks , newspaper agencies, magazine publishing companies and some other major broadcast networks, the art and science of their form of journalism is "Dead".

People don't wish to pay good money after bad for more of the same old partisan and bias editorial that has taken over the main stream media, they want Factual News and information , and they want it fast and unfettered.

The consumers sentiments are a well known one , they are tired of Face Journalists who have worked for decades in media and print industry appearing on their television sets or writing articles in their tabloids who resort to creating tremors of hype by the tactic of social media embellishments, and multimedia storytelling.”

Swift change will be coming to the Main Stream Media ,but if it ever wants to be resurrected it will require much more discipline in as much as enforcing the code of ethics that already existed but was totally ignored , one change to help revive the now dead MSM would be adding a non partisan media watchdog , or a body that would be given mandate to enforce those codes.
Change in the Media is destined to take shape, especially if you think about media in an entirely modern way , like the Internet .

Talking Head Journalists tend to be aggressively defensive in protecting their almighty gods of authoritative content , And, while more media companies are adopting blogs and trying to shift into acting as post MSM news aggregates, Most Major established Bloggers have already been doing just that , and have long adhered to getting to all of the facts first before applying any type of authority to the issue.

While Blogs are not the most Journalistic Valhalla's as news sources (yet) , Most ex-customers of the MSM are now reading the better independent Journalist Blogs , and leaving Post MSM journalists
like Andrea Mitchell and Katie Couric to go figure.

These Blogs and their independent investigative bureaus continue to communicate more effectively to the news customer in a way that MSM never could , it actually induces the customer to look for or search out their own news items , items that are of particular interest to the consumer , and in any market consumer interest is king.

Bloggers who once communicated into the black hole of cyberspace, now tend to communicate more and more into the commercial spaces left void by the now Dead Main Stream Media, Places such as TV , radio, and print , And of course they will always be there in the newer modes of information streaming Internet which brings more light to the situation.

The pre-mortem MSM Bloggers have been more consistent at beating the old traditional MSM which brings to mind the phrase,
"Who needs a news wire when you got the Internet ? , “survival of the fittest."

It stands to reason why the MSM is dead , they just can't compete .

This chart shows the percentage of people who "believe all or most of what the news network says."

Change is difficult and it’s slow to take shape if you haven’t been trained to think about media in an entirely modern way. Journos tend to defensively protect the almighty god of authoritative content that’s professionally disseminated to the masses. And, while more media companies are adopting blogs and trying to shift into acting as news aggregators, we still need journalists and PR folks to communicate effectively.
